There aer soldiers. There are patriots. There are those that fall in the line of duty while preserving something greater then themselves.
Death holds no mystery for me. I know it waits - I know it will come. Those that are fighting for the worlds brand of peace right now may meet it sooner than I will.
I guess I am a movie watcher. Sometimes I need to get away from the lawn, the job, and the tree trimming.
In the movie Braveheart - the speech that gives me the shivers is that of William Wallace.
"Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you'll live -- at least a while.
And dying in your beds many years from now,
would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance,
just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that
they may take our lives, but they'll never take... our freedom!"
Given the choice to wait at home - to never take action - to never give someone else to breath the same free air as you do - would be a shame.
That would be the travesty.
